Leucadendron rubrum is commonly known as the Spinning Top Conebush. It is a tall shrub, growing to 1.5 - 2m. It has silvery green leaves and flowers in spring through to summer. The male plant has small narrow flower-heads and the female has large green and later, coppery, cone-like flower-heads (see picture). These female cones are lovely when dried and in arrangements. This is a very attractive & adaptable species.
