When you soak seeds in a solution of these chemicals you recreate conditions similar to the start of the rainy season after a fire. This triggers germination. We use it and recommend it in our growing instructions. If you have bought seeds then don't go home without this! Essential for Protea, Strelitizia and Restio seeds and recommended for most Cape Fynbos seeds.
