Fynbos and Protea discussion response:

USAD ZONES - julie June 20, 2001

In response to Q: USDA ZONE 8 - Antonio Pimenta _ from Portugal, June 13, 2001 :
    • Dear Antonio
USDA Zones of hardiness are a guide to what you can grow where.eg.
      USDA Zone 8: 10 to 20 degrees F/
      -12 to -7 degress C
This means that if a plant is classified as being able to grow in Zone 8,it can tolerate temperatures down to 10 degrees F or -12 degrees C.
      Hope this is useful.
